Hi,
My family was on a trip for last week and I had finally time to do some crocheting. I haven't designed a crochet pattern for ages so I decided to make one and I came up with Sammy. My little siblings said that the spirders have eight legs instead of six, but I told them that six legs is good for Sammy. ;o) Have fun to crochet this little creature. He isn't scary, so even I like him.
You need:
Grey and black cotton yarn
Hook size 3mm
Stuffing
Tapestry needle
(6 Pipecleaners)
(Safety eyes)
And now for the pattern:
Body:
Ch 2, 6sc to the 2nd ch from the hook.
1) 2sc to the every 2sc (12sc)
2)(2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (18 sc)
3) (2sc in next sc, sc in next 2sc) repeat around (24 sc)
4) (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3sc) repeat around (30 sc)
5) (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4sc) repeat around (36 sc)
6-10) sc in every sc
11) (sc-dec, sc in next 4sc) repeat around.
12) sc in every sc
13) (sc-dec, sc in next 3sc) repeat around
14) sc in every sc
15) (sc-dec, sc in next 2sc) repeat around
16) (sc-dec, sc) repeat aruond
BO and stuff

Legs(make 6)
Ch 2, 6sc to the 2nd ch from the hook.
1) (2sc in next sc, sc in next 2sc) repeat around.
Sc in every sc for 19 rows.
BO.
Finishing:
Sew head to the body. If you use pipecleaners, put them now inside the legs. If you don't, stuff the legs lightly and sew them to the body. With few sitches I made the legs look more like the legs of spider. Embroider the face and the mark to the body.
