Siili – ilmainen neuleohje

 

Julkaisin siilin neuleohjeen  englanniksi alun perin jo vuoden 2011 elokuussa, mutta ajattelin että käyn läpi vanhoja ohjeitani tänä vuonna ja päivitän ohjeita. Kun kerran olen käymässä ohjeita läpi, niin samallahan ne aika sujuvasti voi kääntää myös suomeksi :)

Tarvikkeet:

Drops Muskat (tai DK-vahvuista lankaa, esim. Novita Nalle)

Paksumpaa lankaa (vahvuus noin Aran tai Worsted, itse käytin aikanaan jotain muodissa ollutta pörrölankaa ja nyt puikoille päätyi jokin jämälanka varastoista).

3mm ja 3,5mm puikot

Neula ja täytevanua

 

Jalat (neulo 2kpl)

Luo ohuemmalla langalla ohuemmille puikoille 13s. Neulo 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [lisäys, 1o], toista [_] loppuun asti. 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [lisäys, 6o], toista [_] loppuun asti. Neulo 3krs sileää.

Seuraava krs: 3o, [2oyht, 3o], toista [_] 4 kertaa, 2oyht, 4o. Neulo 1 krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 3o, [2oyht, 2o], toista [_] 4 kertaa, 2oyht, 3o. Neulo 1 krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 2o, [2oyht, 1o], toista [_] 4 kertaa, 2oyht, 3o. Neulo sileää 17krs.

Päätä silmukat. Ompele takasauma ja täytä jalat vanulla.

Itse neuloin kappaleen helmineuletta mukaillen, jotta saisin hieman siilin piikkejä muistuttavan pinnan. Mutta, jos neulot esim. sileää, niin käytä kappaleen nurjaa puolta oikeana puolena.

Luo paksummalla langalla paksummille puikoille 17s. Neulo 1krs nurin.
Seuraava krs: 1o, lisäys, neulo viimeiseen s:ään, lisäys, 1o. Neulo 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, lisäys, neulo viimeiseen s:ään, lisäys, 1o. Aloita nurjalla krs:llä ja neulo sileää (tai helmineuletta) 15krs.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [2oyht, 3o], toista [_] krs loppuun. Neulo sileää 3krs.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [2oyht, 2o], toista [_] krs loppuun. Neulo sileää 3krs.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [2oyht, 1o], toista [_] krs loppuun. Neulo 1krs nurin.

Päätä silmukat.

Etukappale

Luo ohuemmalla langalla ohuemmille puikoille 17s. Neulo 1krs nurin.
Seuraava krs: 1o, lisäys, neulo viimeiseen s:ään, lisäys, 1o. Neulo 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, lisäys, neulo viimeiseen s:ään, lisäys, 1o. Aloita nurjalla krs:llä ja neulo sileää 17krs.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [2oyht, 3o], toista [_] krs loppuun. Neulo sileää 3krs.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [2oyht, 2o], toista [_] krs loppuun. Neulo sileää 3krs.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [2oyht, 1o], toista [_] krs loppuun. Neulo sileää 3krs.

Päätä silmukat.

Ompele vartolakappaleet sivuista yhteen oikeat puolet vastakkain. Ompele täytetyt jalat kiinni alasaumaan. Käännä ja täytä vanulla.

Pää (neulo 1kpl)

Luo paksummalla langalla paksummille puikoille 13s. Neulo 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [lisäys, 1o], toista [_] krs loppuun asti. 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [lisäys, 4o], toista [_] krs loppuun asti. 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [lisäys, 5o], toista [_] krs loppuun asti. 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 1o, [lisäys, 6o], toista [_] krs loppuun asti. 1krs nurin.

Aloita nurjalla krs:llä ja neulo sileää (tai helmineuletta) 8krs. Vaihda työhön ohuempi lanka ja ohuemmat puikot.

Seuraava krs (työn oikea puoli): 1o, [2oyht, 1o], toista [_] krs loppuun. Neulo sileää 5krs.

Seuraava krs: 2oyht 5 kertaa, 9o, 2oyht 5 kertaa. Neulo 1krs nurin.

Seuraava krs: 2o yht 4 kertaa, 3o, 2oyht 4 kertaa. Neulo 3krs sileää.

Seuraava krs: 2o yht 2 kertaa, 3o, 2oyht 2 kertaa. Neulo 1krs nurin.

Katkaise lanka ja vedä jäljellä olevien s:den läpi. Ompele pään alasauma, kiinnitä turvasilmät ja täytä napakasti, muotoile kuonoa samalla sopivaksi vanun avulla. (joskus silmukoiden "läpi paistaa vanu" ja silloin saatan päättelylangoilla kiristellä silmukoita, jottei vanu näy silmukoiden väleistä. Sulje silmukoiden luomisreuna ompelemalla. Kirjo kuono ja suu. Ompele pää napakasti paikoilleen vartaloon.

 

Kädet (neulo 2kpl)

Luo ohuemmalla langalla ohuemmille puikoille 9s. Neulo sileää 3krs, aloita nurjalla krs:llä.

Seuraava krs: [lisäys neuloun s:n etu- ja takareuna erikseen, 2o] toista krs loppuun (12s). Aloita nurjalla krs:llä ja neulo sileää 17krs.

Seuraava krs: 2o yht koko krs (6s). Katkaise lanka ja vedä s:den läpi. Ompele käden alasauma ja täytä sopivan napakasti vanulla. Ompele kädet kiinni vartaloon.

Jimmy the Hedgehog, updated version (free knitting pattern)

 Hello,

 

 I first published the pattern for a little hedgehog about ten years ago. Time sure goes fast, doesn't it? And it has been one of the top articles in my blog. So I decided (FINALLY) to update the pattern and knit through the original. 

I fixed the apparent errors in the original pattern already (there were some) and I decided to leave it still in my blog. 

But I guess that the pattern really needed updating and last year I decided to update some of my old patterns and translate them to Finnish also. I already updated the gingerbread pattern and now was Jimmy's turn. I did some adjustments to the increases and decreases of the pattern (especially to the legs and head) and I hopefully wrote the insturctions down a bit better this time.

You need

Knitting needles 3mm and 3,5mm

DK yarn

Furry yarn (about Worsted or Aran), I used a random old skein from my stash.

Stuffing

Pair of safety eyes

Tapestry needle

 

Legs (make 2)
Cast on 13sts with light brown yarn. P 1 row.
Next row: K1, [m1, K1] repeat [_] to the end. P1 row. (25sts.)
Next row: K1, [m1, K6] repeat [_] to the end.
Beg with P row st-st 3rows.

Next row: K3, [k2tog, k3] repeat [_] 4times, k2tog, k4. P 1row.
Next row: K3, [k2tog, K2] repeat [_] 4times, k2tog, k3. P1 row
Next row: K2, [K2tog, k1] repeat [_] 4 times, k2tog,k3. (14sts)
Beg with P row st-st 17 rows.
Cast off. Sew legs and stuff.

Body (back piece)

Note: I knitted the back piece in moss stitch, but also using “the wrong side” of the piece as “the right side” is also okay.

Cast on with furry yarn and 3.5mm needles: 17sts. P1 row
Next row: K1, m1, knit to last st, m1, k1. P1row.

Next row: K1, m1, knit to last st, m1, k1.
Beg with P row st-st (or moss stitch) 15 rows.
Next row: K1, [k2tog, k3] repeat [_] to the end. St-st 3 rows.
Next row: K1, [k2tog, k2] repeat [_] to the end. St-st 3 rows.
Next row: K1, [k2tog, k1] repeat [_] to the end. P1 row
Cast off.

 

 

 

Front piece

Cast on with brown yarn and 3 mm needles: 17sts. P1 row
Next row: K1, m1, knit to last st, m1, k1. P1row.

Next row: K1, m1, knit to last st, m1, k1.
Beg with P row st-st 17 rows.
Next row: K1, [k2tog, k3] repeat [_] to the end. St-st 3 rows.
Next row: K1, [k2tog, k2] repeat [_] to the end. St-st 3 rows.
Next row: K1, [k2tog, k1] repeat [_] to the end. St-st 3 rows.
Cast off.

Pin the front and back piece of the body together from the sides, right sides facing each other. Sew the sides together. Sew the legs to the bottom part of the body. Stuff the body firmly.

 

Head:
CO 13sts with furry yarn. P1 row.
Next row: K1, [m1, K1] repeat [_] to the end. P1 row
Next row: K1, [m1, K4] repeat [_] to the end. P1 row
Next row: K1, [m1, K5] repeat [_] to the end. P1 row
Next row: K1, [m1, K6] repeat [_] to the end.
Beg with P row st-st (or moss stitch) 8 rows. Change to light brown and smaller needles.
Next row: K1, [k2tog, k1], repeat [_] to end.
St-st 5 rows.
Next row: k2tog 5 times, K9, k2tog 5 times. P1 row
Next row: k2tog 4 times, K3, k2tog 4 times. st-st 3 rows
Next row: k2tog 2 times, K3, k2tog 2 times. P1 row. Cut off yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches. Sew the sides of together. Insert safety eyes before stuffing, stuff firmly and close the cast on edge. Note that the wrong side of the head is the side where the right side of the thicker yarn is.

 

Arms (make 2)

With smaller needles and light brown yarn cast on 9sts. Beginning with P row st-st 3 rows.

Next row: [kfb, k2] to end (12sts). Beginning with P row st-st 19rows.

Next row: K2tog across (6sts). Cut of yarn and pull through remaining stitches. Sew the under seam of the arms. Stuff firmly and sew to the body.

Embroider the face and attach head to the body securely.
